Where is SLCC?

Where can I get an application for enrollment?
Enrollment applications are available at all SLCC sites and online. To receive an application by mail, call 801.957.4297.
How many years are required for residency tuition?
A student is eligible for resident tuition after 12 months of continuous residency in Utah or after 60 continuous semester hours at a higher education institution within the state.
Who can take classes at SLCC?
SLCC is an open-admission college, which means that certain grades or test scores are not required for admission. However, placement testing is required before registering for courses. Tests can be taken at the Testing Center. For the specific requirements of these programs call 801.957.4297.
What programs are available at SLCC?

How do I get financial aid?

When’s the next orientation?
Orientation programs are a great way to become familiar with SLCC and include information about registration, advising, parking, buying books and much more. SLCC offers three different orientation options, all of which can be viewed here. QuickConnect orientations are held most frequently. For more information call 801.957.4073.
Is there an admission deadline?
SLCC does not have admission deadlines, but we strongly suggest that you apply about eight weeks before the start of a semester. That way you have time to attend orientation, get academic and financial aid advising and sign up for the classes you are interested in taking.

What can I do with a 2-year degree?
SLCC offers a variety of degree options. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, employees with an Associate degree earned, on average, 20 percent more than employees with only a high school diploma.
Students in SLCC Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs are highly recruited by business and industry. Job placement for graduates of the most common CTE programs are consistently well over 80 percent. In fact, many are hired before they graduate and then complete their education at company expense.
Many students who earn a two-year Associate degree at SLCC transfer their credits to four-year colleges or universities. SLCC has established transfer and articulation agreements with Utah System of Higher Education (USHE) institutions and a variety of other private, public and out-of-state institutions. Can I take classes at SLCC while I attend another school?
Yes! Many students prefer taking some of their general education classes here because of the small classes and lower tuition costs. Any SLCC course that is numbered 1000 and above will transfer to other Utah colleges or universities, both public and private. SLCC also has transfer articulation agreements with BYU Hawaii, BYU Idaho, Franklin Online University and California State University – Bakersfield. For more on transferring, click here.

You can purchase books and supplies from any of SLCC’s five bookstore locations.

Where do I find the class schedule?
Each semester the class schedule is available in several different forms. You can buy a hard copy at any SLCC bookstore or view it online.
What is continuing education?
Continuing Education, headquartered at the Miller Campus, focuses on programs designed to meet the needs of business, industry, agencies and professionals in their fields. Programs range from on-going, career-oriented programs to customized training focused on development of a particular skill. Continuing Education focuses on on-site delivery of programs and courses.
